Beyond the
Classroom

Creative
Release

Hairdressers and students come together to celebrate TONI&GUY’s collection launch at the Creative Release. Zak Mascolo and the TONI&GUY Artistic Team take the stage to demonstrate the cut and colour techniques utilized throughout the latest hairdressing collection.

The Cut Above

TONI&GUY is always providing cosmetology school students with professional experiences in the industry with The Cut Above competition. Students can participate in academy-wide challenges to win an opportunity to be a part in top-tier industry events.

Student Catwalk

This is where students get to demonstrate their creativity at this annual event produced by students from start to finish modeled after high-fashion runway shows. Students showcase their styling, cutting, colouring, makeup and finishing techniques to an audience of friends, family and industry contacts.

Student Catwalks are modeled after runway shows produced in New York, Milan and Paris. Students create total concept looks with the guidance of instructors and are responsible for sourcing models, hiring a photographer, creating mood boards and selecting wardrobe.

The behind-the-scenes experience of producing a show gives students real world training in a fast-paced environment as well as an introduction to the world of session work. Skills gained from this experience range from leadership and networking to choreography and advanced hair and make up skills, all while providing students a creative outlet that prepares them for work in the hairdressing industry.

Photographic Awards

TONI&GUY stylists, students and alumni have a chance to gain recognition for their work in our annual creative competition, the Photographic Awards. This company-wide competition emphasizes continuing education and leading with innovation.

To enter as a TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy student or alumni, you must submit a photo before the Photographic Awards deadline. Finalists are chosen and the winners in 20 categories are honored at the Photographic Awards show during Creative Release.

This opportunity will strengthen your technical skills as well as prepare you to produce photoshoots. Your entry is more than just a photo. The focus is the work as a whole and will be judged on model suitability, hair wardrobe, makeup and lighting.
